Sarah’s Life-Story…up to now

This is my life in a nutshell.  I am the 55-year-old mother of two, one son and one daughter…both loving and irreverent at the same time.  I am the grandmother of two, one granddaughter and one grandson, both smart and beautiful, always.  I am the long-time wife of one man, a joy to live with, usually.  My days are busy volunteering, reading, grandchild sitting, and writing.

Born in Illinois, I graduated from the University of Evansville in Indiana with a nursing degree, moved all over the country.  Now that my children are grown and out of the house, my husband and I live in comfort.  We married too young and too broke but somehow, through a lot of hard work and refusal to give up, we stayed together through sadness, stress, and success and are now at ease in our love for each other.  I married my prince and he allowed me to ride my own horse.

Five years ago, soon to turn 50, I decided to learn to write.  My goal was to let my children know my thoughts, sometimes with humor, always with meaning.  I took writing and computer classes, read best sellers and old classics, and started typing.  Not only have my children read my essays (so they say), but also my personal essays have been published in magazines and a major city newspaper.

Periodically I will write about my life as a wife, mother, grandmother, assistance counselor, writer and observer of life.  What I write about is true.  I like to find the humor in my day because if I’m not laughing…I’m in trouble.

Welcome to my website.   Read on.   Hope you enjoy.  Let me know either way.
